Reporting Cheaters in Modern Warfare 3

Stating the not so obvious…

As you are aware, Modern Warfare 3 features an in-game report option, where you can report players for cheating, exploiting, boosting, or for using ‘offensive language’. The in-game report button is great, and bans are regularly handed out (as shown by Robert Bowling here).

However, if you are as determined as I am to get cheaters banned, for example people that use equipment in the game to gain an unfair advantage (Tactical Insertion Boosting), there is a much better way.

Introducing ‘BanCandy’, a member of Infinity Ward’s Online Services team who recently joined the forums to take down some boosters in the name of fair play!

If you see someone who is breaking Modern Warfare 3’s Online Code of Conduct, shoot her a PM on the Modern Warfare 3 forums (requires a Call of Duty Elite account) and she will drop the Banhammer. Be sure to include their Gamertag, platfrom, and video evidence.

Today’s Modern Warfare 3 Updates (Feb 7th)

DLC Information, Playlist Updates, and Infected Changes.

Elite Content Drop 3:

Activision have announced Modern Warfare 3’s third Call of Duty ELITE Content Drop, a multiplayer map titled ‘Overwatch’, and it’s coming to Xbox 360 Premium members on February 21st! Judging from a promotional image released (seen here), Overwatch takes place on a construction site atop a large skyscraper.

The Content Calendar has also been updated to reflect today’s announcement and also gives a sneak peek at March’s Content Drops, listing three pieces of content — ‘Black Box’, a multiplayer map, as well as ‘Black Ice’ and ‘Negotiator’, two Spec Ops missions.

‘Infection’ Updates:

Infection players will notice some changes when they join a game today.

The mode now has a 10 minute round timer, 20 second intermission between games, a maximum party limit of 9, and all perks within this mode are now Pro. There are also new Classes, which can be viewed here.

Playlist Updates:

Just  days after it was replaced by ‘Infection’, Drop Zone is making a triumphant return to Modern Warfare 3’s Community Playlists! The mode will return tonight.

If you intend on abusing glitches in Modern Warfare 3, know that you will soon face the consequences!
Above is a picture of a user getting banned for exploiting the well known ‘Unlimited Prestige Token glitch’ (soon to be fixed), so don’t think they aren’t banning people on a daily basis.
For more information on the Modern Warfare 3 Online Code of Conduct, or as Robert Bowling put it, ‘how to get banned’, check out this thread on the official Modern Warfare 3 forums.

First of 2012: Xbox LIVE/ PS+ Giveaway [Ended]

I see you mentioned WaW as getting you into the series, do you still play it?

Nope, although if Treyarch ever went back and decided to fix it, I probably would (although not exclusively).

My Gaming Holiday Gift Guide

So, I’ve eventually got around to posting this. I’m sure quite a lot of you will disagree with some of my suggestions, but there is so much great games and hardware that have released this year that it’s impossible to squeeze them all in!

Call of Duty: MW3Batman: Arkham CityCall of Duty Elite

GAMES:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - £39.99 // $59.99

With an awesome story, addictive new Survival Mode, and a more expansive multiplayer experience than ever before, this game will keep you coming back throughout the year. If you’ve not picked it up (I’m sure some of you haven’t), do so. Like, now.

1yr Call of Duty Elite Membership -  £34.99 // $49.99

Back when Activision announced Call of Duty Elite, there was a lot of confusion surrounding its features and price. Once they cleared this up, people began to realise how good of a deal this is. With this Elite subscription, you will get access to ELITE TV, exclusive clan benefits, ALL Modern Warfare 3 DLC, and much more.

Batman: Arkham City -  £39.99 // $59.99

This is possibly my game of the year. The main story isn’t exactly short, but once you have completed that, there’s some side quests for you to complete, as well as DLC (more coming on December 20th). Rocksteady have really outdone themselves with Arkham City!

CONSOLE BUNDLES:

Call of Duty: MW3 Limited Edition Xbox 360 £229.99

This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 branded Xbox 360 console not only looks great, but it also comes complete with two Modern Warfare 3 controllers, a 320GB hard drive, and a copy of the game.

Xbox 360 250GB Console with Forza 4, Battlefield 3 - £199.99

A fantastic introduction to Xbox 360. This bundle comes complete with a three month subscription to Xbox LIVE, a new Xbox Media Remote, and two blockbuster titles, Battlefield 3 and Forza 4.

PlayStation 3 with Battlefield 3 and NFS: The Run - £199.99

Packing a 160GB hard drive, a copy of Battlefield 3, and a copy of Need for Speed: The Run, this PlayStation 3 bundle is great for those considering picking up a PS3 for the first time!

OTHER:

12 Month Subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold  £34.99 // $49.99

You can’t go wrong with a gift like this. Xbox LIVE Gold is required to play multiplayer games (among other things) on Xbox LIVE, so any hardcore gamer will treat this as a welcome gift!

4200 Microsoft Points Card - £32.99 // $49.99

On Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Points is your currency. 4200MSP is a pretty sizeable amount, which can be used for Avatar Items, DLC, Games on Demand, and XBLA.

Astro Gaming A40 Audio System - £239.99 // $249.99

The Astro A40 Audio System, complete with MixAmp, is great for multiplayer games. Hearing the enemies footsteps as he attempts to creep up on you will give you a pretty significant advantage! Not only is the product great, but Astro’s customer support is pretty awesome too.
